Green skills strategies
Post-COP26, the Levelling Up Whitepaper is set to have a long reach over the next few years. This Green Jobs and Decarbonisation masterclass is a must-attend virtual event for all those involved in delivering sustainability targets and supporting green spaces, estate operations, asset management, and resident employment and training programmes within both the social housing and care home sector. The agenda will explore different ways in which to address the growing green skills gap, and empower tenants and residents to fill the new green jobs being created.
The Green Jobs and Decarbonisation webinar will feature a panel of expert keynote speakers and sustainability leaders, all of whom will share valuable external insight and practical advice. They are:
- Gavin Smart, CEO, Chartered Institute of Housing
- Ria Bailes, Chair, Green Spaces Advisory Board
- Sam Jones, Housing Sector Lead, Ground Control
- Lynsey Sweeney, MD, Communities that Work
- John Westby, Green Skills Partnership Board Member
- Rob Andrews, Head of Employment, Skills and Training, Bolton at Home
Collaboration and co-operation
Drawing on shared knowledge and expertise, the webinar programme will consider how housing associations can best harness decarbonisation skills, and explore the vital requirement for green jobs in the delivery of net zero targets. The masterclass will also consider the self-employment model and the positive impact it has had within social housing, alongside various collaborative approaches to developing green skills at pace and scale.
Importantly, the webinar panel will discuss the Levelling Up Agenda and UK Shared Prosperity Fund – and how this could be used by housing associations to support local people into self-employed green business ownership.
Join us and take away vital knowledge of the mechanisms to encourage green employability, and gain the know-how to support more people into rewarding nature-based jobs.
Tickets for the Green Jobs and Decarbonisation Skills webinar are free of charge. Please click here to register via the EventBrite booking page.
