Ground Control become corporate members of the Royal Meteorological Society
Ground Control is delighted to announce that we are now corporate members of the Royal Meteorological Society, making us the first Winter Maintenance service provider to be a corporate member.
The Royal Meteorological Society (RMetS) is a registered charity that serves academics, professional meteorologists and those whose work is affected in some way by the weather or climate, including those who have an interest in the weather. The society sets out “to promote meteorology as a science, profession and interest”, covering the advancement of meteorological science by offering many broad and diverse programmes beyond just the science of weather and climate itself. This includes the application of weather and climate to disciplines such as agriculture, aviation, hydrology, marine transport and oceanography, as well as the impacts of climate change and the interaction between the atmosphere and oceans.
Ground Control’s Winter Maintenance Operations Manager, Andy Simpson, is pleased to have gained corporate membership:
The news follows another landmark achievement, as Ground Control became the first company to be awarded the new Met Office Winter Gritting Quality Mark (Gold Level).
