Ground Control achieves Carbon-Neutral certification four years ahead of schedule
We are very proud to say Ground Control is now officially a carbon-neutral company, having reached our goal of achieving carbon-neutral certification four years ahead of schedule.
Carbon neutrality has been achieved by reducing carbon emissions through a combination of in-house efficiency measures and the use of renewable energy and offsetting remaining emissions through external projects. We are delighted that we have exceeded our initial target of becoming Carbon Neutral by 2025, leading the way in our industry.
Ground Control was certified carbon neutral by an independent organisation called the Carbon Trust. The Carbon Trust is a mission-led organisation that is seeking to accelerate the delivery of sustainable, low carbon economies by helping governments, businesses, and organisations across the world to reduce carbon emissions and achieve greater resource efficiency.
The Carbon Trust’s assessment revealed a significant share of the company’s emissions use came from fuels used to operate its vehicle fleet and equipment, together with the energy required to run its offices, depots and facilities. A portfolio of offsets was selected and purchased including carbon sequestration through tree planting and renewable energy production through wind and solar.
