Installation and upgrade to replace of perimeter fencing with an ecology survey completed and planting including a mix of scrub, bramble and mature trees
Working with external stakeholders and landowners to safely install and upgrade chain link perimeter fencing installed on wooden posts. The works were complemented with additional shrub planting, all completed with a ecology survey in response to reports of newts in the area.
Project overview:
Client: Network Rail
Ground Control completed the installation of 2256m of fencing to replace and upgrade the current perimeter with 1094m chain link and 1162m of stock on wooden post. The project also needed to consider:
- Consultation with stakeholders such as the local community and work with boundary sharing landowners who needed to rotate sheep and cattle.
- Work within specific seasons to support planting and to mitigate flood risk
- Liaise with a Network Rail project team to minimise disruption to nesting birds
Our team noticed that a local landowner had poor fencing on their perimeter. Following a survey and report to Network Rail a price was agreed to extend the fence through that whole land owners property – a gesture that was greatly appreciated by land owners.
Scope of works:
As with all our projects, the works were completed to our highest standards and worked within all the parameters outlined in ‘Health & Safety and Insurance’ section of this tender.
- Ecology survey completed with aspects of the work under the watch of Ecological Clark of Works – this was a result of Newt reports in the area
- Safe and effective removal of existing wire fencing, concrete posts, and debris
- Installation of 1.8m chain link and stoke fence with rabbit netting
- Planting including a mix of scrub, bramble and mature trees
Working with external stakeholders and landowners to safely install and upgrade chain link perimeter fencing installed on wooden posts. The works were complemented with additional shrub planting, all completed with a ecology survey in response to reports of newts in the area.
